About the Position
Evercon Construction & Equipment Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Housing Renovator to oversee and manage residential construction and renovation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating renovation activities while ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and within established timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Management: Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the day-to-day activities of construction and renovation projects, overseeing all phases from initial site installation to the final execution of work.
- Bidding & Estimation: Evaluate new projects and prepare bids/calls for tenders, precisely calculating the required materials and labour hours to ensure the project remains within strict budgetary restrictions.
- Team Coordination: Manage, supervise, and coordinate teams of construction professionals and tradespeople, specifically including masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and welding teams, to ensure seamless on-site operations.
- Scheduling & Time Management: Manage project agendas and implement effective time management strategies to guarantee that all construction work meets execution deadlines.
- On-site Inspection: Intervene directly on construction sites to inspect the smooth running of operations, monitor the progress of work, and write administrative site reports.
- Resource Control: Control the daily use of construction materials, physical resources, and working hours to optimize project efficiency.
- Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical support in specialized areas, particularly in welding and the manufacturing of special parts, as well as plumbing and masonry, when required to resolve on-site challenges.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience in residential construction, renovation, or construction project supervision.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and renovation processes.
- Experience coordinating and supervising multiple trades and construction teams.
- Ability to prepare estimates, manage budgets, and monitor labour and material costs.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project responsibilities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive wage of $28.00 per hour.
- Minimum 30 hours per week, with additional hours based on operational and project requirements.
- Vacation pay of 4% of gross earnings.
